2005 -2006 Theatre Workshops
 
Theatre Conservatory

Intensive, hands-on instruction, by qualified theatre professionals, in a small group environment.  For all skill levels, all ages, and all schedules.

FALL 2005

Junior Acting Company for Kids (Ages 7-12)

Saturday mornings from 10:30 – 12:00
Sept. 10 — Nov. 12
Tuesday afternoons from 4:00-5:30
Sept. 6 — Nov. 8

J.A.C.K. places emphasis on the creative process of acting. This class will enhance performance skills through various workshops in audition techniques, monologue and scene studies, improvisation and theatre games. Previous class and/or stage experience is not required for this workshop.

Acting Company for Teens (Ages 13-17)

Saturday afternoons from 1:00-2:30
Sept. 10 — Nov. 12
Thursday afternoons from 4:30-6:00
Sept. 8 — Nov. 10.
A.C.T. is specifically designed for middle school and high school students. This class will enhance performance skills through various workshops in auditioning, monologue and scene studies, improvisation, and acting for the camera. The material studied in the workshops will range from classic to contemporary, and is specifically tailored toward teens.

Let's Make a Movie!

Did you ever want to be in a movie?  Well, here's your chance... Hollywood is coming to GLT this summer!  In this intensive, hands-on workshop, students will get a crash course in the movie biz with GLT Interns Samantha and Brian. You'll get the chance to participate in the movie making process from start to finish — students will write, direct and star in their very own film.  And then, GLT will roll out the red carpet and you’ll have the chance to bring friends and family to the special Premier Night.

SUMMER 2006

Let's Put on a Musical!

Hone your skills with GLT interns who will teach you everything you'll ever need to know about performing in a musical. This exciting course will enhance performance techniques through various movement, dance and vocal exercises. Each student will work on an audition song and dance routine. The workshop culminates with the presentation of a short musical at the end of the week.

Let's Put on a Play!

Brian and Samantha will show you everything that goes on in order to make a production come to life. From casting to production. From work onstage and in the spotlight to the many duties backstage. From the very first rehearsal to the last little detail before curtain. You'll be exposed to it all and get to make the magic of theatre come alive in a final group production.
